Drawstring Backpack, Matchcar holder

I made this match car play mat for a Dear friend's little boy...

It has Disney's CARS fabric on the back.

It holds 6 cars. They 'Park' under the road. The top folds over and locks them in, and it rolls up neatly.

Since he is pretty young, i didn't want to make a complicated closure, so i compromised and made him a backpack!

This weekend was the Twins b-day party. It was a ton of fun! I didn't get a lot of pictures from my camera, but here are a couple...

I'll try and get some of the pictures from Charlotte's camera soon.

Emily funnies

This is Emily with the cutest boy twins on the planet! My monster daughter chased them with her Raspberry face! It was hilarious. She would raspberry them, then they would all laugh uncontrollably. Kid laughter is the best medicine ever.
This is the one moment of the whole Super Bowl that they were all still. They look like the Three Musketeers in this one!

Where did she learn that? I said Cheese and she popped out that hip and said cheese. I was laughing so hard i couldn't get a good picture!

This is the strangest thing. This is the kid that only eats kid food. Finger food. Nuggets, pizza, hot dogs, that type of thing. but here she is Digging into the Spinach dip. We couldn't stop her. She ate a ton of the stuff.
....maybe.... i could take green beans and brussel sprouts and mix it with cream cheese, parmesan, bake and serve with chips and she'll eat it! ...she's a nacho kid at heart!

Blue Jean Apron - Ribbon Flowers - Rick Rack

This is the cutest thing i've made so far. and it took me FOREVER. It's like i tried to incorporate 1000 different skills in one project. I did learn alot about what to do, and what NOT to do!

Here is a close up of the Flowers. I basically bought the Rainbow Rick Rack, LOVED IT and decided to match the flowers to it. I pulled out colors that matched and went to town making flowers while watching TV one night. I came up with 7 different flowers, but only used 5 on the apron.

I lined the back of the apron with an Baby waterproof lap pad. it was the non quilted kind. i think it has a rubber layer in between flannel layers. anyway. it's water proof, but it also absorbs some liuid. I hope to use this for Art projects, cooking and (if the gods are shining on me,) teaching her to wash dishes!

MOST IMPORTANT TIP:
Always plan your decorations and execute your decorations BEFORE you construct your project. I had to do a lot of hand sewing in terrible tight places because i had already put it together. Oh well. it's done and cute!

for my friends from Martin...

An elephant's gestational period is 22 months, the longest of any land animal.
Cheetos, and the wall of shame. Need I say more?
Ham, Chips and Cheese is still the best food EVER.
Did they ever figure out what happened to the Cafeteria air conditioner?
RIP Herlockers. I still grieve for you.
Double Decker Rummy. and neverending Uno games.
Snow Cream Screwdrivers.
Stop Sign.
"Be good to that ass"

I could go on forever.
Why couldn't college last forever?

Instead of inventing a cell phone that can pick your nose for you, why can't the invent a transporter. Those hills were hell with a hangover.

MY DAUGHTER IS A GENIOUS!

Emily has this huge young adult dictionary that she likes to play with. She'll drag it around the house and flip through it. It's so cute!
Sometimes when I'm reading she'll bring it and sit next to me and copy me and read along.
This time I was sewing and she wanted to hang out with me, so she brought the dictionary to the table to hang out with me. She was So very happy to find the page with PIZZA!!!! She kept sniffing the page and Laughing out loud! It cracked me up.
